Community Connections
We aim to increase the opportunities for all community members to get involved with local, sustainable farming. Grinnell Farm To Table does this by partnering with local groups, such as MICA and the Grinnell Chamber of Commerce to increase awareness through events and educational opportunities.
Our community partners help us identify members of our community who might be in need of our services. We then follow up with their referral to make sure GFTT is a good fit. If it is, we provide them with a bi-weekly food box filled with local products from a variety of local and regional producers. We also identify and help reduce other barriers, such as cooking equipment and cooking with local food.

Mid-iowa community action
Mid-Iowa Community Action, Inc. (MICA) is a private, nonprofit organization serving children and families in central Iowa. MICA provides early childhood, health, family development, and housing services as well as community enrichment programs. MICA, in collaboration with other community partners, leads efforts to strengthen families and communities.
Montezuma food pantry
The Montezuma Food Pantry is a 501(c)(3) non-profit client choice pantry serving the Montezuma school district and surrounding towns in Poweshiek County. They currently serve over 300 households through the dedication of more than 25 volunteers.
malcom food pantry
The Malcom United Methodist Church Food Pantry provides free food to feed families and individuals in need. We supply groceries for residents that do not have enough food because they lack the resources to purchase it. We serve everyone from low income families, single parents, senior citizens, unemployed individuals, disabled veterans, working poor, and anyone else that comes to the pantry that needs We serve everyone regardless of their race, color, or religion. The amount of food given depends on household size.
Brooklyn food pantry
The Brooklyn Food Pantry provides free food to meet basic nutritional needs for individuals and families in need and is available throughout Poweshiek county. The amount of food given depends on household size.
South tama food pantry
The South Tama County Food Pantry is a non-profit dedicated to alleviating hunger throughout South Tama County Iowa. Our goal is to meet the current and future hunger needs of our neighbors and to ensure self-sufficiency through active partnerships with other organizations within our community. We serve families and individuals who are living in uncertainty, seeking assistance and looking for a better life.
Grinnell community fridge
The Grinnell Community Fridge offers 24-hour, no-questions-asked access to fresh and recovered food — providing another layer of support for community members navigating food insecurity. The fridge is stocked throughout the week and available to all members of the community.
Grinnell community Meal
The Grinnell Community Meal is served weekly at the Grinnell United Methodist Church (GUMC) on Thursday nights from 5:30–6:00 p.m. The meal is open to ALL community members and operates in partnership with community groups. Volunteers cook, serve and clean up while engaging with other community members through service and fellowship. The Grinnell Community Meal not only addresses local food insecurities, but also helps to create and maintain connections with our local community members and engage in meaningful conversations which strengthens our community as a whole. These meals are not restricted to any religious group or denomination.
Brookside South apartments
We offer low-income housing for individuals 55 years of age or older and or disability. We provide an array of amenities that make living here a little easier! We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers in obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex/gender, disability, familial status, national origin, or any other protected classes under state or local law. art in the park: grinnell college museum of art
Grinnell College Museum of Art and Drake Community Library offers free hands-on art and literacy activities for children and families at selected sites in Grinnell during the summer. Each session offers hands-on art activities, and books read and take home. On Tuesdays, Grinnell Farm to Table will offer free produce to take home.
